OMCC win Cricketer Trophy

The Old Millfieldian Cricket Club were victorious in their Cricketer Trophy campaign after a very tightly fought final against Old Hamptonians.
"In a rain affected fixture reduced to 40 overs, that was only able to commence after one of the umpires was evicted for refusing to let the game start even though all sets of players and one umpire were all happy to proceed, we lost the toss and were put into bat. Old Hamptonians with a strong bowling attack ripped through our top order reducing us to 90-7 off 15 overs, however a match winning 69* from Charlie Vickery got us up to a competitive 195 all out from 39 overs. Our bowling attack of Hartley, Weller, Webb, Durston & Easton bowled with excellent control and despite a 100 run partnership for their 5th wicket we held our composure at the business end of the game and pulled off a 36 run victory.
The game, in fact the whole season, has been a wonderful advert for Old Millfiedian cricket. We fielded 21 players in total across four cup games and yesterday we had great support from OMs as well as current and former staff which created a wonderful atmosphere."
