Welcome to the OMS website, keeping you in touch with the Millfield community far and wide.
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

  • Invite all OMs to an annual Reunion at Millfield
  • Bring together OMs who left the school 5 years previously, at a special Reunion in London
  • Put you in touch with OMs worldwide through over 30 Branches overseas and in the UK
  • Hold regular local and international reunion events
  • Involve you in OMS sports teams such as rugby, golf, cricket, squash, hockey and clay pigeon shooting
  • Arrange careers advice for current pupils and seek to provide advice and work experience for younger Old Millfieldians (please see below for procedure)
  • Support younger members with travel grants
WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR US!
  • Keep us up to date with your life post-Millfield; where you are and what you are doing (preferably by email, please!)
  • Spread the word about the Society and, in particular,  encourage OMs who have lost contact with us to get back in touch
  • Offer careers advice to current pupils and younger OMs
  • Get involved with our local and overseas branches
  • Keep an eye out for OMs you feel should be on the Distinguished OMs list, or be nominated for OM of the Year
  • Send us your feedback and suggestions about all OMS activities, reunions, Chronicle and the website
CAREERS HELP FOR YOUNG OLD MILLFIELDIANS

The newly established and already very active Millfield Business Network on its LinkedIn platform may be an advantageous way for OMs of all ages and experience to explore careers/advancement opportunities. Go to our MBN page.

However, the OM Society continues to respond to more specific requests from young OMs to help them obtain careers help/work placements in their chosen fields.

When requesting careers help via the Society, OMs should send to the OMS office a full CV, together with a formal Letter of Introduction, which will be forwarded on to suitable contacts. The Letter of Introduction should set out the writer’s hopes and ambitions and what they think they can offer a potential employer, plus their preferred location, and dates and lengths of placement.

We must remind OMs that our service is courtesy of a nucleus of OMs, well-established in their particular fields, who have offered their services to help young OMs with their careers.  Our role therefore is limited to responding to formal work placement requests from young OMs in preparation for a specific profession.
The principal aim of the Society is to keep members of the worldwide Millfield family in touch with each other.

So click on 'My Society' for your own record and the possibility of contacting old friends directly (we are always happy to do this on your behalf).
