David Kemp (Member of staff 1966-78)
We are sad to report the death of David who was Head of Tennis at Millfield for over 10 years.

OM Andrew Jarrett writes:-

'Millfield tennis has lost one of its greatest figures in David Kemp. David was head coach through some of the school's most successful periods starting in 1966 through until the late 70s, overseeing the development of so many outstanding players who went on to achieve much in the sport.

David's enthusiasm, energy and sheer love of sport inspired those he worked with to believe they could achieve more. He was friend, mentor and confidante to hundreds down the years and his connections throughout tennis reached far and wide.

Though greatly saddened by his passing, the school can look back on his enormous contribution and celebrate a golden era in Millfield Tennis.'

David passed away on 17th February 2019 and his funeral took place on 4th March at the Mendip Crematorium.
