He, Frank Fenner and Eric Westwell were three of the founder members in 1989 of the Millfield Golfing Society, who, for many years as a trio and with great good humour, taught golf to beginners at the annual Millfield ‘Village of Education’ summer holiday courses.

Before Millfield, Eric had been Deputy Headmaster of Marple Grammar School, Cheshire, then Headmaster at John Watson’s School, Edinburgh, positions which stood him in good stead as a Senior Tutor at Millfield, in addition to his role as a German teacher.

We send our deepest sympathy to his three children, Carol, Lesley and Neil, all OMs.
